The Sr. Director, WW Privacy Counsel, will advise on global data protection and privacy issues and be responsible for the company’s compliance with global privacy standards as more particularly described below. 




  • Advise on domestic and foreign privacy matters to ensure compliance with applicable privacy law, including the General Data Protection Regulation, Binding Corporate Rules, China’s Cybersecurity Law, US State Privacy Laws, including HIPAA, GLBA, COPPA, FCRA, State Breach Notification, and Unfair and Deceptive Trade Practices and other privacy and data protection requirements
  • Partner with business teams on the launch of new products, services, and marketing initiatives to ensure a privacy-by-design strategy is adopted
  • Provide daily counsel on the privacy and data privacy implications of Company’s internal information technology infrastructure and external web platforms and mobile applications
  • Draft and maintain internal and external privacy policies/notices that accurately reflect how personal information is handled
  • Responsible for data privacy aspects of Incident Management Program
  • Audit global privacy program and counsel worldwide client groups to ensure compliance with regional privacy regulations
  • Develop and implement Company and Member privacy training that educate parties on their responsibilities with respect to personal information



  • Ability to train and interact effectively at all levels with sensitivity to cultural diversity.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with senior management and Members
  • In-depth understanding of how to conduct thorough investigative research, possessing deep fact-finding skills and information analysis, and accurately relate details
  • Ability to solve practical problems and organize workload for effective implementation of new rules and processes
  • Proven ability to perform efficiently under varied timelines in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Ability to adapt as the external environment and organization evolves
  • Effectively able to advocate the philosophy and practical application of the Member Rules of Conduct
  • Ability to think analytically and strategically

  • Ability to facilitate progressive change


  • 12 years' experience as an attorney in a compliance related position
  • 5 years' management responsibility
  • Investigative experience, compliance and/or education industry experience
  • Positive leadership and maintenance of a strong team-working environment
  • Experience in managing adversarial situations
  • Reporting and communication at all levels
  • Maintenance of policies and procedures
  • Demonstrated experience in a customer service oriented environment


  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Juris Doctorate


  • Creative “out-of-the-box” mindset
  • In house experience at a technology, consumer products or multinational company
  • CIPP/US and/or CIPM Certifications
