POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT:
 
The Liquids Supervisor will have oversight of the liquid manufacturing and packaging departments.  The position will be responsible for the Clean in Place (CIP) and Clean out of Place (COP) of liquid processing equipment.  Successful candidate will plan, direct and coordinate the manufacturing and packaging activities of the solution department required to produce the highest quality products. 
 
DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:   
  • Plan, supervise and direct liquid manufacturing and packaging personnel to achieve short and long term departmental objectives
  • Must have a thorough understanding of liquid manufacturing and packaging processes, including system sanitization. 
  • Problem solves / troubleshoots production issues and recommends resolution / implements changes to maximize production yields and efficiencies
  • Ensure staff is properly trained and competent in all technical aspects of their positions
  • Actively promote and maintain a safe work environment
  • Establish staffing guidelines and distribute workload so as to deliver maximum results
  • Maintain two way dialog with direct reports on work and results
  • Communicate company and departmental goals and objectives assuring that these are clearly understood by the shift
  • Complete and maintain all necessary documentation including applicable current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) documents
  • Work with Maintenance, Quality Control and other departments as needed in order to ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures, Quality and cGMP Standards
  • Administer company policies regarding attendance, conduct, performance, quality, safety and teamwork
  • Interacts with Quality, Planning and Engineering daily to assure production schedules are met or exceeded
  • Responsible for personnel development. Instruct, train, motivate and assist employees so that company and departmental objectives are achieved
  • Accountable for department results
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  

 
Skills:  
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - verbal and written
  • Ability to set priorities and multi-task to achieve desired results
  • Excellent organization and analytical skills
  • Coaching and mentoring skills - development of team
  • Ability to interpret complex technical instructions from manuals and instruction sheets
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions in a systematic fashion
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Understanding and familiarity with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) 
Experience:  
  • 3 to 5 years working in liquids processing industry
  • Previous production supervisory experience of at least 2 years
  • Experience handling chemicals
  • Experience training and developing staff 
Education:  
  • High school diploma or equivalent 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:  
  • Previous experience in a cGMP/FDA environment
  • Two year technical degree from accredited institution or equivalent experience
